Structural Integration/Rolfing
STRUCTURAL INTEGRATION/ROLFING

This is a classic 10-session series aiming at accomplishing specific sets of goals and integrating all parts of the body with the core in order to help free the body from the outside in and inside out. It is possibly the deepest form of deep-tissue bodywork, yet administered in a non-intrusive manner accompanied by guided movements being educated at engaging with the core and emerging from it.
Although each session has its own unique set of goals and cumulatively prepares the body for the following one, there are 3 main objectives:
-
Sessions #1, 2 and 3 are formulated to release stiffness, spasticity and long-held patterns of tension and resistance in the muscles and soft tissues of the torso, shoulders, hips, and extremities. They work at differentiating the muscles on the different planes and at the different depth of every given segment of the body. This frees the bones and helps them find their more proper alignment, which improves the balance across their joints, and in turn gives them better access to the core.
-
Sessions #4, 5, 6 and 7 aim at directly activating and organizing the core, which is located in and around the abdominal area.
-
Sessions #8, 9 and 10 work at better relating the extremities with the core and integrating the whole body's structure.
Note: While this 10-session series is recommended for people who are proactive in their health and wellbeing and want to engage in the process, sessions 1, 2 and 3 will highly benefit anyone.
Be advised: It is prescribed that you make the commitment of coming at weekly interval, exceptionally 2 weeks at the most, or else the momentum of the work may be somewhat lost and the benefits reduced.
